Join TAP-SF for an afternoon of painting! We will be led step-by-step by a local Taiwanese-American painting teacher to create a watercolor and pen landscape of Taipei. Frances Kao (she/they) is a Bay Area native and holds a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. Currently, Frances teaches painting and drawing (and woodworking and PE!) at a middle school in Palo Alto.

Tea Talks is back! Come enjoy some tea and conversation with new and old friends! Expect some structure with opportunity for organic banter. We will start at TP Tea San Mateo (no host) and head over to San Mateo Central Park for more space. Feel free to bring picnic blankets and/or lawn chairs in case the benches are mostly/all taken. Come and ice skate with TAP-SF! We will be gathering at Winter Lodge in Palo Alto on Sunday 3/24 during a public skating session from 3-5pm.

Tickets are $22 and include general admission and skate rentals. Please purchase your own ticket at the Winter Lodge website. Winter Lodge has stated that all tickets must be purchase ahead of time.

Muir Woods Hike

Join TAP-SF on a beautiful 3.5-mile hike to Muir Woods!

Cap off the year with us on this 3.5-mile loop trail in Mount Tamalpais State Park - the route will take us down to Muir Woods through the back way (no reservations required), where we’ll walk amongst beautiful old-growth redwoods, before climbing back up to the starting trailhead.

Join TAP-SF for a spooky Halloween TAPpy Hour at Dokkaebier (420 3rd Street, Oakland) and enjoy some Asian-inspired craft beer. Named after playful and mischievous “dokkaebi” spirits who love good food, drink, and company, Dokkaebier will also set the stage for our Halloween Costume Contest! Come dressed in your best costumes and enjoy all those things dokkaebi love with fellow TAPpy spirits!

There will be raffles and prizes, including a gift card for Dokkabier!

Dokkaebier is located in Jack London Square and is also a short 10 minute walk from 12th Street Oakland BART station.

Join TAP-SF at the Presidio Tunnel Tops for a morning of tea and casual conversation.

The goal of the event is to meet and chat with different members of the Taiwanese community across the Bay. We will have picnic blankets and be rotating in groups on the main parade lawn.

Conversations will start with light-mediated prompts by TAP-SF board members and continue with casual open discussions. At around noon we’ll grab lunch and carry on the conversations!

Join TAP-SF as we volunteer for SF-Marin Food Bank as a team! Help us build grocery boxes for seniors, sort donations, and other various tasks as needed.

***Enter from Pennsylvania Ave (new location as of November 2022).

***Plan to park on the streets surrounding the Food Bank, only meter spaces may be available. The spaces directly in front of the Food Bank are for loading only. Our parking lot is for our partner agencies picking up food for their participants.

Please arrive 10-15 minutes before your shift. Volunteers MUST meet age requirements below and minors must be accompanied by an adult. Saturdays: 8+ years old

Guidelines:

• Only volunteer if you are healthy and completely comfortable serving.

• Closed-toe shoes are required at all volunteer projects.

• We recommend volunteers not wear jewelry. If worn, all items must be covered by the provided gloves and/or hairnets.

• We suggest dressing in casual and clean layers, as the temperature in the warehouse is often cool.

Let’s try something different! Join TAP-SF for an urban hike in the Berkeley hills where we walk through the beautiful and unique homes of this suburb. Please sign up via Eventbrite to register for this event.

We will explore the foliage covered and landscaped stairstep that divide these neighborhood blocks. The hike will end on top of the scenic Indian Rock with a gorgeous view of San Francisco (assuming the weather is clear).

We will meet at the Berkeley Rose Garden where we will promptly start our hike at 10:15AM. Please download the map for this hike with the link provided below:

• This hike will be roughly 2.5 hours (10AM to 12PM), followed by lunch at the Emeryville Public Market, a food court with many food options.
